Places of national interest

The county of Västerbotten has 52 historic environments of national interest. These places have been chosen because they reflect the special history of this region and represent different times and different activities.

Together, they provide an image of the county’s historic development and its heritage. They are a mixture of the magnificent and exclusive and the more ordinary and small-scale.

The aim of selecting places of national interest is that these sites should be highlighted so that they are not damaged during planning
and land use.

The County Administrative Board’s website lists the county’s places of national interest.

The stalotomts in Remdalen, Vilhelmina, are part of a place of national interest.

The entire Vindelälven river valley is a place of national interest.

Svansele wet meadows, in Norsjö Municipality, are also a place of national interest.
